1. About Us and These Terms
These terms apply between you and Embassy Attestation, 7 Temasek Boulevard, #12-07 Suntec Tower One, Singapore 038987 ("we", "us"). They apply to every order, whether placed through this website, WhatsApp, email, phone or at our office. By confirming an order you accept these terms.
We provide document legalisation services: notarisation, Commissioner for Oaths services, submission to the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL), submission to embassies and high commissions in Singapore, certified translation, and pickup and delivery. We are not a law firm and do not give legal advice. Notarial acts are performed by a Singapore Notary Public, acting in that capacity under the Notaries Public Act 1959, who may decline any act that the law or professional rules do not permit.
2. Quotations and Orders
Prices shown on this website are starting prices. Your final price depends on the document type, number of pages and destination country, and is confirmed in a written quotation before any work begins. An order is confirmed when you accept the quotation in writing (a WhatsApp message or email is enough) or make payment, whichever happens first.
The quotation is based on the documents and information you give us. If the documents, the destination or the receiving authority's requirements turn out to be different, we will send a revised quotation before doing any extra work.
3. Your Responsibilities
- Confirm the receiving authority's requirements, and send us any written instructions you have received
- Provide genuine, complete and unaltered documents, and accurate information
- Ensure you are entitled to deal with each document you give us
- Attend in person, with original identification, wherever a document must be signed before the Notary Public
- Check the details on any draft, translation or declaration we send you before you sign or approve it
We may refuse or stop work on any document that appears altered, incomplete, doubtful or unlawful, or where we are not satisfied of a signer's identity, understanding or free will.
4. Timelines and Priority Handling
Timelines we give are estimates. Steps within our control — appointments, preparation, submission, collection and delivery — are carried out as agreed. Processing at SAL and at embassies is set by those authorities and is outside our control, and we never guarantee an embassy date.
Priority handling is available for notarisation and SAL apostille only: next working day (+S$29 per document) or same working day (+S$49 per document) for complete orders confirmed and paid before 11am, subject to the signer attending and SAL's opening hours. It does not apply to embassy attestation.
Transparent fees
5. Fees and Payment
Your quotation lists our fees, the SAL fee (or states that it is included) and any embassy fee. Embassy and other government fees are passed on at cost. We accept full payment or a deposit, as agreed in your quotation, by PayNow, bank transfer, credit or debit card and other online payment methods. Any balance is payable before the completed documents are released.
If an authority changes its fee after your quotation, we will tell you before paying the new amount. Foreign ministry fees payable in the destination country (for example UAE MOFA) are not part of our quotation.
6. No Refunds, Free Rework and Reissue
Fees are not refundable once your order is confirmed. Government, SAL and embassy fees are paid to those authorities and cannot be recovered once paid.
Instead of refunds, we stand behind our work. If a document is rejected, or needs correcting, because of an error on our part, we redo the affected work and arrange a reissue at no extra charge to you, including any repeat government or embassy fee caused by our error.
If you cancel before any step has started, tell us in writing. Fees you have paid are not refunded, but at our discretion may be held as credit for a future order within 6 months.
8. Your Documents in Our Care
We handle documents with reasonable care. Originals are receipted, photographed at each hand-off and returned by tracked delivery or collection. Documents sent by international courier at your request are subject to the courier's terms once dispatched. Please collect completed documents within 30 days of our notice; after that, we may return them to your delivery address at your cost.
9. Limitation of Liability
Our total liability for any order is limited to the fees you paid us for that order, excluding government, SAL and embassy fees. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost employment, visa, travel, business or property opportunities, or for delays and decisions of SAL, embassies, foreign ministries, couriers or other third parties, or events beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything that cannot be excluded or limited under Singapore law, including the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977 and the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003.
10. Privacy
We handle personal data in line with our privacy policy and the Personal Data Protection Act 2012.
11. Changes, Governing Law and Disputes
We may update these terms from time to time; the version in force when you confirm your order applies to that order. These terms are governed by the laws of Singapore. If a dispute arises, please contact us first so that we can try to resolve it. Any dispute that cannot be resolved is subject to the jurisdiction of the courts and tribunals of Singapore.
Terms Questions
What if the embassy rejects my document?
We tell you the reason and the options. If the rejection results from our error, we redo the work and reissue the document at no extra charge. If it results from a requirement of the receiving authority, government and embassy fees already paid cannot be recovered.
Can I get a refund?
No. Fees are not refundable once your order is confirmed. Instead, if anything goes wrong because of our error, we fix it and reissue the document free of charge.
Can I cancel after submission?
Once a document is at SAL or an embassy, it cannot be withdrawn until processing ends.
